Information:
The University Foundation has been placed on the first day of the 15th century AH, Muharram 1, 1401 (November 11, 1980). This landmark of the beginning of the new century symbolizes the aspirations and hopes of the Islamic Ummah Islamic Revival. The desire to produce scholars and practitioners, imbued with Islamic education, character and personality, and able to meet the economic, social, political and intellectual of modern times is the goal of this university. The University began as the "Islamic University" with only 9 students in its LL.M program and classes to be held on the campus of Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad. The University has been updated, restructured and reconstituted as the International Islamic University, with the promulgation of the Ordinance on the International Islamic University by the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in March 1985.
In the year 2007-08 with nine (8) schools and six (6) independent academies, institutes and centers at the University conducts around ninety (90) Curriculum with a workforce of over 12,000 Students who are around 5,500 female students. In addition, some 2,000 are enrolled in the Technical Center Iqra, a constituent unit of the University.
